The narrative-through-journal pattern rewards thorough play. Players who read every entry pick up plot beats that are not in the main dialogue. Players who skip entries will finish the game and miss most of the depth.
Played across two evenings and a long Glasgow Glasgow Subway ride. The format rewards longer sessions and the save preserves journal state across slots.
The weakness is the late-game journal overflow. By chapter five the journal has dozens of entries and the search-by-keyword UI does not scale. A category filter would help. Two-and-a-half stars; the journal is well-designed at small scale and breaks down at full size.
